Okay, this sounded a bit touristy to me at first, but it ended up being one of the coolest things I did! It’s the only place in the world where you can safely experience real flowing lava indoors. You can literally feel the heat radiating off it. Plus, the hosts are super witty and fun. It’s a total blast. 

Just a quick drive from town is the Dyrhólaey arch. If you are visiting between May and mid-August, this is Puffin Central! They nest in the cliffs here, and you can see them waddling around. They are smaller than you think and infinitely cuter.

Vík has surprisingly amazing food for such a small place!

Skool Beans: ☕ A micro-roaster inside a converted yellow school bus? Yes, please. They have a resident cat, incredible bagels, and the coffee is top-tier. It is the most aesthetic start to your morning.
