Iceland is home to one of the world's largest Atlantic puffin colonies, and the easiest way to see them is by boat. Tours run from Reykjavík's Old Harbour, Húsavík and the Westman Islands between roughly May and August, when the birds come ashore to nest — many trips pair puffin spotting with whale watching.
