Midnight White Water Rafting

The midnight sun in Iceland is the most spectacular time to explore beautiful nature.  The entire environment lights up in the beautiful colors of the sunset and from the midnight sun. You are in luck since we at Secret Local Adventures offer white water rafting trips at midnight at summertime!  Come and enjoy an epic trip with us down the glacier river Hvítá.  The river originates from Langjökull Glacier and is the third longest river in Iceland, 185 kilometres long! Hvítá river is the home of many waterfalls, including the beautiful Gullfoss waterfall!  This is the perfect trip if you want some adrenaline and also enjoy beautiful and unique nature. On this trip you will get to know the power of Hvítá, big waves and some good rapids. You will enjoy some incredible scenery, Hvítá Canyon and Brúarhlöð Canyon, which are only accessible by a kayak or a raft, really a once in a lifetime experience!  We will bumble down close to 9 kilometres? and have the best time! The trip takes 3,5-4 hours and you need to arrive at Secret Local Adventures Base at least 15 minutes prior to departure.  What about equipment and safety on board?  **We are one of few companies in the world that use Dry Suits in our tours. That means you will stay 90% dry the entire trip!** We also supply a life jacket, a helmet and shoes. Our guides are highly trained and skilled and will keep you safe on the raft! No rafting experience is needed to have a fun, adrenaline packed day!

Private Rafting

River rafting is a fun and adrenaline-packed activity but may not be the best option for the entire family. However, you are in luck! At Secret Local Adventures you can attend our family rafting trip in which the whole family can have fun.  In our family rafting trip, we will start in the same place as our white water rafting trip but we will skip the biggest and scariest rapids. When we have sailed past the biggest rapids we will arrive at one of the most beautiful places on Earth, Brúarhlöð Canyon. The only place to see and experience this canyon is by boat and it really is once in a lifetime experience! We offer cliff-jumping for the daredevils at Brúarhlöð and later on we play fun games on the boat and experience smaller rapids and the stunning nature surrounding us.   We are one of few companies in the world that use Dry Suits in our tours. That means that at the end of the trip, you will be 90% dry. The suits also provide extra security when paired with a life jacket which is a necessary piece of equipment when river rafting. We also provide a helmet and shoes.   You don&#39;t need any rafting experience before the trip. Our trained and skilled guides will tell you all about safety on board and how to enjoy the trip in a safe way!  The family rafting trip takes about 3,5 to 4 hours in total and you have to arrive at Secret Local Adventures Base at least 15 minutes prior to departure.
