Your adventure starts by the hotel with a quick buggy intro from our expert guides, so both seasoned riders and first-timers will feel prepped and ready for action. From there, we’ll set off, navigating outside the protected nature reserve and following rugged trails towards the Hofsjökull glacier. You’ll tackle rough terrain, steep hills, and river crossings, with plenty of stops to soak in the breathtaking views. We depart from Reykjavík by bus at 08:30 and stop at Gullfoss on the way to the highlands. Simply sit back and enjoy the stunning views of icy rivers and snowy peaks—your first taste of the wilderness ahead.Upon arrival in Kerlingarfjöll, guests travel by bus to <a href="https://highlandbase.is/hveradalir" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Hveradalir</a>, where one of our guides will show you around the area, deepening your experience of this awe-inspiring natural wonder. Renowned for its active hot springs and colorful rock formations, Hveradalir offers spectacular contrasts against the dramatic mountain backdrop.After your hike, you can reserve a table at our <a href="https://highlandbase.is/restaurant" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">restaurant </a>to relax and refuel. The adventure continues with a visit to the <a href="https://highlandbase.is/highland-baths" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Highland Baths</a>, where you can unwind in soothing geothermal waters amidst the serene landscape.We’ll depart back to Reykjavík at 17:00 and stop at Geysir on the way back. Estimated arrival back in Reykjavík is at 20:30, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Iceland’s wild extremes—all achieved in just one day.The trip is available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in June and daily in July and August. Please note that this trip is not intended for children under the age of 10.
