We recommend thicker, woollen socks, avoiding cotton clothing and bringing layers.Hiking boots can be rented on location for 1500 ISK. The difficult level in this tour is rather moderate, not difficult,  people need to dress  warmly,in a good hiking shoes because sometimes it can get cold. Our aim is to provide high quality and personal guidings  in each tour we take and we put our customers experience in seat number one. All ice caves change from year to year both in size and colors and some photos that you see on web sites can be from the tours from the years before. Some winters we get them bigger and sometimes smaller but always beautiful. We cannot wait to take you on the Glacier Hike and Ice Cave adventure! Your guide will drive you to Vatnajokull Glacier via a super jeep to begin your adventure. After a hike through an alien-like glacial tundra, we will arrive at the edge of the glacier where your guide will assist you in putting your crampons on. Geared up, we will explore both the lower and upper ice caves where your photographer will capture you inside these natural wonders.Once through the lower cave, we will gear up for our hike on the glacier. With crampons on, we will hike to many different formations on the glacier including our famous crystal crevasses. The visuals you will see all around you will create an unimaginable experience as your photographer captures you amongst it. This tour involves approximately 5 to 6 km of hiking in total and is considered to require a moderate level of fitness.At the end of your tour, we will edit your photo and you will get a photo package in ~14 days as the perfect souvenir to remember your epic adventure in Iceland!Optional Add-On: Pickup/Drop-off out of Reykjavik is available for an additional 225,000 ISK per group. Your adventure begins in Reykjavik at 7:30 AM, where we’ll pick you up and head towards Langjökull, Iceland’s second-largest glacier. After a scenic drive, we’ll swap to Super Jeeps, which are perfect for glacier terrain. At the base camp, you’ll gear up for snowmobiling with the helmets, balaclavas, overalls, and gloves provided.Once ready, we’ll head out onto the glacier, speeding across its vast, snowy landscape. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning ice formations and crevasses, truly immersing yourself in this thrilling experience. We’ll also reach a spot to explore a natural ice cave, with its vivid blue ice and frozen walls—an unforgettable sight.After an hour of snowmobiling, we’ll return to base camp and make a stop at Skjól Bistro for lunch (not included) before continuing the trip to meet the Aurora guide in Reykjavik.Your driver guide, with years of experience, will find the perfect spot based on weather and Northern Lights forecasts.
