This tour will take us on a journey through one of Iceland's most beautiful coastal towns, which surprisingly is a bit off the beaten path of normal travelers to Iceland.

Our first stop will be at the Akranes Lighthouse, which stands tall and proud on a rocky peninsula overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. This lighthouse is not only a functioning navigational aid but also a popular spot for tourists to take in the stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.

We can explore the lighthouse and learn about its rich history.  This is the only Lighthouse in Iceland that offers general visitors the opportunity to visit.

Next, we will head to a nearby geothermal pool called Guðlaug (Direct translation would be the Pool of God), where you can relax and unwind in the natural hot waters. The pool is heated by geothermal activity in the area and is surrounded by scenic landscapes out towards the sea.  It's location is right by a sandy beach called Langisandur (Long Beach) is simply perfect.

You can dip in the warm waters, soak up the sun or enjoy the tranquillity of the surroundings and if you are brave enough, you can even swim in the ocean like the (braver) locals do, Since it is a blue-flagged beach.

Finally, we will head into town for some delicious food. Akranes is known for its fresh seafood and local delicacies, and we will stop at one of the town's best restaurants to sample some of these delights. You can expect a warm welcome from the locals and a friendly atmosphere.
