Private Reykjavik City & Icelandic Architecture Walking Tour
3 hours · From Reykjavík

Join us for a private city and shopping tour around the Reykjavik city center — a bespoke walk that combines an introduction to Icelandic culture with guided access to the best independent stores in the city.
The route follows the classic Reykjavik circuit: up Laugavegur, the city's main shopping street, all the way to Hallgrímskirkja church, then back down Skólavörðustígur. Your guide knows every side street and hidden storefront along the way. Along the route, there's an optional stop at Iðnó for a brennivín schnapps if you're interested.
The focus throughout is on shops that make their own products or stock locally sourced goods. Your guide tailors the stops to what you're looking for — woolens, handmade jewelry, art, souvenirs, food, or a mix of everything. Several of our partner stores offer exclusive discounts to tour guests, including Rammagerðin (15% off), Brauð & Co bakery (15% off), FRÍÐA Skart jewelry (10% off silver, 5% off gold), and Handprjónasambandið, where a sweater purchase comes with a free pair of hand-knitted wool socks.
Other stops along the route depending on your interests: 66°North, Icewear, Kirsuberjatréð, Hjarta Reykjavíkur, SvartbySvart, Thorvaldsenfélagið (Reykjavik's oldest shop, run by a local charity), Valdís ice cream, Taste of Iceland, Reykjavik Roasters, 12 Tónar records and books, Fischer soap, EYEMAZY prints, and Kolaportið flea market.
Sweet treats and a drink with your guide are included. Your pace, your interests, three hours.
