Golden Circle Small Group Tour with Friðheimar Farm Visit
9 hours · From Reykjavík

This exclusive private tour is flexible and can add stops wherever desired. As the most popular day tour in Iceland, the Golden Circle is often called “the sample of Iceland” The largest attraction of the Golden Circle is Þingvellir National Park. Iceland's national assembly, which eventually evolved into a parliament, was founded at this site in 930 and remained there until the year 1798 before moving to Reykjavik. That makes it the original site of what is now the world’s oldest legislature in existence. Þingvellir has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2004. From there we head to the Geysir Geothermal Area where the Strokkur Geysir erupts every 5-6 minutes. There is only 8 min drive to our next stop. The 'Golden Falls', Gullfoss, is one of the most beautiful and powerful waterfalls in Iceland, plummeting 105 feet (32 meters) in two tiers into the river Hvítá. It is optional to have lunch at Geysir or stop at Friðheimar which is a country-style family run restaurant offering tomato based dishes from the onsite greenhouse and have a late lunch.
During our private tour, we will continue on to visit Faxi Waterfall on our way to the next stop. Faxi Waterfall is a wide and gorgeous waterfall fed by the glacial river Tungufljót, it flows steadily over a broad rock ledge, creating a calm yet powerful display. Less crowded than many of Iceland's larger waterfalls, Faxi offers an easy and peaceful stop. Allowing visitors to experience Iceland's natural beauty up close without the rush of the busy viewpoints.
Lastly we end our tour by visiting the Kerið Crater, a striking volcanic crater formed around 3.000 years ago. Featuring vivid red volcanic rock surrounding a deep blue lake at its base, creating a dramatic contrast of colors. Visitors can walk alongside the rim for panoramic views or follow a path down to the crater lake itself, making Kerið an accessible and visually unique stop that highlights Iceland's volcanic origins.
