Hvaleyrarvatn and its surroundings are a magnificent playground, just a stone's throw from downtown Reykjavik. There is plenty to enjoy for everyone who loves lively mountain biking in a unique environment.

We start with a light warm-up on a gravel road that runs from Hvaleyrarvatn to Stórhöfði, where a very enjoyable trail begins, which can be quite technically challenging in parts. From there, you can choose to bike a single track over the moss-covered lava field to Kaldársel and continue around Helgafell, or go around Stórhöfði and even up to the top for the toughest riders.

In the forest around the lake, there are also numerous single tracks that seem designed for mountain biking fun. Each trip is organized and biked according to the group's wishes, weather, and wind.
